Greenville High School

Greenville High School Statement and Press Release The Board of Education announces the retirement of Cheryl Dudley as Superintendent of Schools of the Greenville Central School District effective November 14, 2015. Superintendent Dudley informed the Board of unforeseen personal issues that arose causing her to express her wish to retire at this point in her career. While this is sudden, it is in the best interest of Superintendent Dudley and the Board to accommodate this wish and accept her retirement. The Board expresses its appreciation for all the good work that Superintendent Dudley has done for the District over the ten years she has been Superintendent. Superintendent Dudley likewise expressed that, while she is sad to retire at this point and leave Greenville, she is confident that the administrative, teaching, and support staff that is in place is fully prepared to continue the academic and professional growth in the District on behalf of all students which has been enjoyed over the past few years during some very difficult economic times. Most importantly, the Board and Superintendent Dudley are confident the current staff will continue to provide the finest educational experience for our students as the District moves forward. Given this development, the Board is evaluating plans regarding a search for a new Superintendent. In the meantime, Assistant Superintendent Tammy Sutherland will be the Acting Superintendent while the Board considers both a possible interim and permanent search process. The Board will be engaging the public at the appropriate time during this process and has the utmost confidence in the leadership of the current administrative staff during this transitional time. #GHSBlog
